A Step-by-Step Guide

Isle of Quel'Danas

Travel Quests to the Isle

Before your first trip to Quel'Danas, pick up the travel quests to the Isle from Shattrath City.

Crisis at the Sunwell
(Aldor version of Scryer q Duty Calls)
Travel quest from Adyen the Lightwarden on Aldor Rise in Shattrath City. (Not a daily.)

  1. Go to the Isle of Quel'Danas. (Need directions?)
  2. Check the map, and see where you are. Take a look at the buildings around you.
  3. From your arrival point on the balcony of the Sanctum, go down to the ground and then go north to the Shattered Sun Staging Area. (If you flew to the Isle, go south from the flight point on the pier.)
  4. Complete your quest by talking to Exarch Larethor, and collect your reward: 10 SSO Rep, 1250 experience, 44s (unverified).

Duty Calls
(Scryer version of Aldor's Crisis at the Sunwell)
Travel quest from Dathris Sunstriker on Scryer's Tier in Shattrath City. (Not a daily.)

  1. Go to the Isle of Quel'Danas. (Need directions?)
  2. Check the map, and see where you are. Take a look at the buildings around you.
  3. From your arrival point on the balcony of the Sanctum, go down to the ground and then go north to the Shattered Sun Staging Area. (If you flew to the Isle, go south from the flight point on the pier.)
  4. Complete your quest by talking to Exarch Larethor, and collect your reward: 10 SSO Rep, 1250 experience, 44s (unverified).

Enter, the Deceiver
Travel quest from General Tiras'alan in the center of Shattrath. (Not a daily.)

  1. Go to the Isle of Quel'Danas. (Need directions?)
  2. Check the map, and see where you are. Take a look at the buildings around you.
  3. From your arrival point on the balcony of the Sanctum, go down to the ground and then go north to the large ship in the harbor just east of the pier. (If you flew to the Isle, go south to the end of the pier, and then left (east).)
  4. Go up the ramp, turn right, and go up the steps to the raised stern of the ship.
  5. Complete your quest by talking to Archmage Neth'ul [50,28], and collect your reward: 10 SSO Rep. (Experience and cash rewards unknown/unverified.)

Dailies: Group One (Northwest)

These quests take place all along the northwest coast of the Isle, from Dawnstar Village (just west of the Staging Area) down to the Sunwell Plateau. Pick up all three quests, and do them together.

The Sanctum Wards or Arm the Wards!
Daily quest from Captain Theris Dawnhearth at the Staging Area.

  1. Go west and south on the grassy areas between buildings and the coast.
  2. Kill Wretched Fiends and Wretched Devourers. Note that the Fiends have a channeled mana drain (Bitter Separation) that heals them for 2x the amount of mana drained. Devourers can cast a very short-duration silence.
  3. Loot the bodies. If you are lucky, there will be a Mana Remnant along with any other loot.
  4. Continue until you have gathered 4 Mana Remnants.
  5. Go to a Crystal Ward - any of the large red crystals outside of the Sanctum or the Armory.
  6. Open your Backpack and right-click the pile of Mana Remnants to energize the Crystal Ward and complete the quest.
  7. Return to Captain Theris Dawnhearth for your reward: 150 SSO Rep, 9500 experience, 3g40s.

Erratic Behavior or Further Conversions
Daily quest from Vindicator Xayanna at the Staging Area.

  1. Put the Attuned Crystal Cores into your Action Bar.
  2. Go west and south on the grassy areas between buildings and the coast.
  3. Locate, attack, and "kill" Erratic Sentries (yellowish robots). The Sentries are not aggressive and will not aggro unless attacked.
  4. Target the Erratic Sentry corpse and click the Attuned Crystal Cores to revive and "convert" the Erratic Sentry into a friendly Converted Sentry.
  5. Repeat until you have converted 5 Erratic Sentries. If you are in a group, everyone in range will get credit for each Sentry converted by anyone in the group. (In fact, if you're lucky and two of you click at the same time, you may get multiple credit for the same conversion.)
  6. Return to Vindicator Xayanna for your reward: 150 Rep, 9500 experience, 3g40s.

Open for Business
Daily quest from Mar'nah in the Inn.

  1. Go west and south on the grassy areas between buildings and the coast.
  2. Locate a small, green Bloodberry Bush, and move close to it.
  3. If it's not sparkling, and you don't get a gear when you mouse over it, you forgot to pick up the quest, or you've reached your quota of berries.
  4. Loot (right-click) the bush, and collect a Bloodberry.
  5. Repeat until you have collected 5 Bloodberries.
  6. Return to Mar'nah for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s, Bloodberry Elixir.

Dailies: Group Two (Bombing Runs)

Pick up both quests in this group and do them one after the other.

Distraction at the Dead Scar or The Air Strikes Must Continue
Daily quest from Battlemage Arynna at the Sanctum.

  1. Put the provided Arcane Charges into one of your Action Bars. I strongly suggest using a slot in your alternate Action Bar (the one you probably never use).
  2. Go to Ayren Cloudbreaker [48,25], the righthand NPC at the north end of the pier.
  3. If you are mounted, dismount.
  4. Talk to her and, when you are ready, click the first option: "Speaking of action, I've been ordered to undertake an air strike." (If you are in a group, have everyone click simultaneously so that you are flying in a cluster and get credit for each other's kills.)
  5. While on the long flight south to the Dead Scar, "roll" your main (lower) Action Bar to expose the alternate Action Bar, where you should have placed the Arcane Charges. Verify the key you are using for the bombs. Now use Alt-z to clear your screen temporarily of all Action Bars and other clutter. (This will make it much easier to target and drop your bombs.)
  6. As soon as you arrive at the Dead Scar, press the designated "bomb" key (or click the Arcane Charges icon if you're doing it the hard way); place the resulting green circle on a likely target; and click (again) to detonate the charges.
  7. Repeat the previous step over and over until you have killed 2 Pit Overlords (the large, extra-large, or huge creatures on the ground), 3 Eredar Sorcerers (the humanoids on the balconies), and 12 Wrath Enforcers (the medium-sized demons on the ground).
  8. Once at the Dead Scar, your flight will go north to the top, loop south to the Scar entrance, loop again and go north about halfway before breaking off to the west, leaving the Scar, and returning to Ayren Cloudbreaker.
  9. If you did not kill all of the required targets, repeat steps 4-8.
  10. If you did complete the quest requirements, press Alt-z to bring back your Action Bars, and then return your main Action Bar to its usual configuration.
  11. Don't leave yet! Instead, talk to Ayren again but click the second choice (for Intercept the Reinforcements or Keeping the Enemy at Bay). (You did pick that up, didn't you?)
  12. After finishing both quests, return to Battlemage Arynna for your reward: 150 SSO Rep, 9500 experience, 3g40s.

Intercept the Reinforcements or Keeping the Enemy at Bay
Daily quest from Vindicator Kaalan on the north balcony of the Armory.

  1. Put the provided Flaming Oil into any open slot in one of your Action Bars.
  2. Go to Ayren Cloudbreaker [48,25], the righthand NPC at the north end of the pier.
  3. If you are mounted, dismount.
  4. Talk to Ayren, and do the quest, Distraction at the Dead Scar or The Air Strikes Must Continue (optional but recommended).
  5. Talk to Ayren (again), and select the second choice: "I need to intercept the Dawnblade reinforcements."
  6. When you are in range of a ship, click the Flaming Oil icon; place the resulting green circle anywhere on the ship; and click again to throw the oil and set the ship afire.
  7. Repeat for all three ships. (You will have multiple chances at each ship; failure is almost impossible.)
  8. Your dragonhawk will deposit you on the stern of the middle ship, the Sin'loren (not back on the pier where you started).
  9. Kill 6 Dawnblade Reservists.
  10. If there are too many players and too few Reservists on the Sin'loren (often the case), jump over the side and swim to one of the other ships. Go up the ramp, and kill Reservists there.
  11. Return to the Sin'loren (if necessary), talk to the Dragonhawk, and click on the dialog to return to the pier.
  12. Return to Vindicator Kaalan for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s (for Intercept the Reinforcements; no cash for Keeping the Enemy at Bay).

Dailies: Group Three (North and East)

Pick up all quests in this group and do them in sections or subgroups, as detailed under Know Your Ley Lines, the quest that ties the group together.

Know Your Ley Lines
Daily quest from Astromancer Darnarian in the Sanctum.

  1. Put the provided Astromancer's Crystal into your Action Bar.
  2. Go to the big building west of the Sanctum and south of the words "DAWNSTAR VILLAGE" on the map. It is guarded by Dawnblade Blood Elves of various kinds.
  3. Make your way to the Bloodcrystal [42,35] in the center of the building.
  4. Click the Astromancer's Crystal to take the Bloodcrystal Reading.
  5. Go to Dawning Square [48,42] (just sw of the Armory).
  6. Make your way to the Dawning Square portal [48,44] (the glowing green curtain on the east edge of the cleared area).
  7. Click the Astromancer's Crystal to get the Portal Reading.
  8. Loop north and east to the Greengill Coast.
  9. Go south to the Naga Shrine [61,62] (halfway down the Greengill Coast, due east of the words "THE DEAD SCAR" on the map).
  10. Click the Astromancer's Crystal to take the Shrine Reading.
  11. Return to Astromancer Darnarian for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s, Darnarian's Scroll of Teleportation.

Taking the Harbor or Crush the Dawnblade
Daily quest from Magister Ilastar on the top floor of the Armory.

  1. Go to the big building west of the Sanctum and south of the words "DAWNSTAR VILLAGE" on the map. Dawnblade Blood Elves of three varieties are on the grassy area surrounding it; inside the building; on the ramps, balconies, and terraces; and further south.
  2. Kill 6 Dawnblade Summoners. Summoners are casters and prefer fire spells, though they are also capable of Frostbolt and Frost Nova. Each Summoner is accompanied by an Imp, which also casts fire spells.
  3. Kill 6 Dawnblade Blood Knights. Blood Knights are basically Paladins - armored melee fighters - who are capable of healing themselves or others unless interrupted or silenced.
  4. Kill 3 Dawnblade Marksmen. Marksmen prefer ranged combat and often use fire arrows. They too can heal themselves or others. If you can't find enough of them on the balconies, there is a cluster of them at and near the archery range, to the south.
  5. Return to Magister Ilastar for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s.

The Battle for the Sun's Reach Armory or The Battle Must Go On
Daily quest from Harbinger Inuuro in the Sanctum.

  1. Go to Dawning Square [48,42] (just sw of the Armory)
  2. Kill 6 Demons.
  3. Kill the Emissary of Hate at or near the Dawning Square portal [48,44] (the glowing green curtain on the east edge of the cleared area) (optional step)
  4. "Use" (right click) the Shattered Sun Banner (quest object provided) on the corpse of the Emissary of Hate.
  5. Return to Inuuro for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 9500 experience, 4g40s.

Making Ready or Don't Stop Now
Daily quest from Smith Hauthaa, se of the Armory.

  1. Skirt the northern end of the huge structure east of the Armory, and go east to the Greengill Coast.
  2. As you work your way south, kill Darkspine Myrmidons (basic melee fighters). If they are near murlocs, pull them away or avoid AoEs: The "Greengill Slaves" are not hostile but will aggro if "attacked."
  3. Occasionally, a Myrmidon will drop a Darkspine Chest Key. Loot the key. (It will go into your key chain, not your Backpack.)
  4. Find and go close to a Darkspine Ore Chest, a low, flat, brown and green chest on the ground.
  5. Open the chest and loot a piece of Darkspine Iron Ore.
  6. Repeat the previous steps until you have gathered 3 Darkspine Iron Ore.
    • If you end up with extra keys, don't throw them away! You can use them the next time you do the quest.
  7. Once you have met the conditions of all the naga quests, return to Smith Hauthaa for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s.

Disrupt the Greengill Coast
Daily quest from Captain Valindria [53,34] (on Silvermoon's Pride, the red ship east of the Inn).

  1. Go southeast to the Greengill Coast.
  2. As you work your way south, kill Darkspine Sirens (casters that prefer Frost spells).
  3. Each Siren will drop an Orb of Murloc Control. Loot the orb.
  4. Locate and approach a cluster of murlocs (Greengill Slaves).
  5. Right-click the Orb of Murloc Control; place the resulting green circle around 2-3 murlocs; and click again to throw the orb and free the slaves.
  6. Repeat the previous steps until you have freed 10 Greengill Slaves.
    • Extra orbs can be thrown away or ignored but (unlike the keys) not saved; they will be removed from your Backpack when you turn in the quest.
  7. Once you have met the conditions of all the naga quests, return to Captain Valindria for your reward: 250 SSO Rep, 12650 experience, 4g40s.
